We are seeking an experienced Buyer to support the successful delivery of major projects. This role will be responsible for managing all pre-award procurement activities, ensuring materials and equipment are sourced efficiently, competitively, and in line with project requirements. You will play a key role in driving procurement outcomes by leading tendering processes, coordinating evaluations, and supporting award recommendations. The position requires strong commercial acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced project environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as custodian for all pre-award procurement activities across project materials and equipment
* Liaise with internal stakeholders to confirm technical specifications, delivery schedules, and logistics requirements
* Prepare and issue Invitation to Bid (ITB) documentation, including commercial terms and conditions
* Manage bidder prequalification, selection, and approval processes
* Coordinate and oversee the full tendering process, ensuring probity, confidentiality, and compliance
* Lead commercial evaluations, including pricing structures, Incoterms, and payment milestones
* Review and assess vendor deviations, providing recommendations aligned to contractual requirements
* Prepare recommendation for award documentation and support purchase order execution and handover
About You
You are a commercially minded procurement professional with experience managing purchasing activities within a project environment. You bring a solid understanding of procurement processes, contract law, and commercial risk management, along with strong negotiation skills and the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Your experience includes sourcing capital equipment or materials, working with procurement systems, and managing bid processes end‐to‐end. You are highly organised, able to meet tight deadlines, and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast‐paced environment. Ideally, you will also bring experience within EPC or EPCM projects, exposure to international procurement, and a strong understanding of global supply markets. A relevant tertiary qualification and knowledge of incoterms, logistics, and total cost of ownership principles will be highly regarded.
