As the Principal Financial Analyst, you will lead initiatives that enable delivery of products and services through the development, implementation and use of contemporary data analytics, reporting systems and tools, and provide high level professional and strategic advice to ensure the effective delivery of financial services provided across the department. This role requires significant collaboration across finance teams and within the department.
What You Will Be Doing
- Develop and maintain financial models: Build and manage complex financial models to support analysis of costs, budget planning, and forecasting, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
- Drive process improvement: Identify inefficiencies in financial and operational processes and implement improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Lead technological advancements: Develop and implement innovative solutions, with a focus on Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and other business intelligence tools, to improve financial reporting and budget management.
- Create and deploy reporting tools: Design, build, and roll out advanced dashboards, reports, and analytics to meet the evolving needs of the finance team and stakeholders.
- Deliver actionable insights: Analyse data from multiple sources to provide insights that support decision-making and align with organisational goals.
- Ensure governance and consistency: Manage reporting frameworks to maintain accuracy, standardisation, and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Support change management: Lead the rollout of new tools and processes, engaging with stakeholders and providing training to ensure successful adoption.
- Build stakeholder relationships: Foster positive, cooperative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to align financial strategies and ensure effective communication.
- Ensure compliance and governance: Maintain adherence to relevant government legislation, departmental policies, and procedures in relation to financial, administrative, and operational matters.
