We Are Key Assets Australia (KAA)

Key Assets is a leading not-for-profit, children, family and community services agency, founded in Australia in 2007.

We provide foster care and family services and operate across all states, the ACT and Norfolk Island. Our purpose is to achieve positive and lasting outcomes for children, families, and communities. To achieve that, we need people like you!

We pride ourselves on being inclusive and embrace and celebrate the diversity of all people within our communities. Our diversity helps us provide the best support possible to carers, families, children and young people and all of our external stakeholders.

A little about the role

Reporting to the Director of People, this role proactively supports the health, safety and wellbeing (HSW) of employees, contractors, clients and visitors by providing advice and support to internal and external stakeholders in relation to a range of HSW matters.

As the HSW subject matter expert, you’ll work alongside the People Business Partners to build relationships with the jurisdictions, providing tailored advice and enhancing local leadership capacity to achieve engaged, highly functioning, healthy, and safe teams.

Whilst you’ll be well supported by your team, this is an opportunity to truly make the role your own by developing and implementing an innovative health, safety, and wellbeing operational plan to achieve positive and lasting outcomes.

As a HSW Business Partner, you will be responsible for :

* Providing HSW expertise, guidance and advice to management, the WH&S Committee and health and safety representatives, ensuring they understand their role and meet their legislative obligations.
* Supporting the Director of People in the delivery of overall strategic improvements through the development, facilitation, and delivery of specific HSW training and preventative safety activities across the organisation.
* In collaboration with the People Business Partners, provide support and guidance to leaders across jurisdictions on employee wellbeing matters – including return to work plans both work-related and non-work related.
* Actively manage WorkCover claims applying a person-centred approach focusing on injured workers’ needs by setting recovery goals, supporting them to achieve these and consulting with relevant stakeholders to keep them informed as appropriate.
* Establish and maintain strong relationships across the organisation, ensuring that all parties have a clear agreement and understanding of their respective roles and accountabilities to reduce risk and injury and ensure a safe workplace.

This is a full-time, ongoing role - you can be based between any of our KAA sites, with hybrid working options also available!

About you

To be successful in this role, you’ll come with :

* A Certificate IV in WHS, Safety, Compliance or related qualification and / or significant prior experience in a similar role.
* Demonstrated experience improving and implementing new safety processes, systems, and procedures.
* Proven ability to engage, partner with and coach operational staff with technical guidance around the management of high-risk tasks.
* A passion for values-based culture and motivation to make a positive difference!
