Are you a dynamic Clinical Manager ready for something more meaningful — and the rare opportunity to build something from the ground up?
At Odyssey Lifestyle Care Communities, we call this role a Wellness Manager — because it goes beyond traditional clinical leadership. It's about nurturing a team, elevating care standards, and redefining aged care in a community that truly feels like home.
We are excited to offer a unique opportunity to lead the commissioning of our brand-new Chevron Island community. This is a highly rewarding role where you will play a pivotal part in setting up the service, shaping the culture, and establishing strong clinical and operational foundations for long-term success.
This role is best suited to a confident leader who thrives in new environments and is excited by the challenge of building and leading a community with a high level of autonomy.
About the Role
As our Wellness Manager, you will lead with purpose — overseeing clinical and care operations while building a high-performing team from the ground up.
This role requires a confident and capable leader who can operate autonomously, solve problems proactively, and make sound decisions to support both residents and staff in a dynamic environment.
You will be instrumental in ensuring alignment with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and the Support at Home program, embedding best practice, governance, and continuous improvement into everyday operations.
This role offers a unique opportunity to lead across both clinical operations and workforce leadership during the commissioning phase, providing full visibility and influence over how the community is established.
During the initial phase, you will take a hands-on leadership role across both clinical and workforce functions as the community establishes. As the community grows, the structure will transition to a dual Wellness Manager model, with dedicated roles across:
Clinical Operations Wellness Manager (clinical governance, risk, and resident outcomes)
Workforce Wellness Manager (workforce leadership, recruitment, education, performance management, HR functions, compliance, and staff wellbeing)
This model provides increased support, clear role specialisation, and shared accountability for outcomes as the service expands.
What You'll Do
Lead the commissioning and operational setup of a brand-new care community at Chevron Island, with strong executive support
Champion person-centred, relationship-based care aligned with the Strengthened Standards and Support at Home principles
Build, lead, and inspire a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of accountability, compassion, and excellence
Operate with a high level of autonomy, confidently managing day-to-day decisions and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment
Ensure regulatory compliance, governance, and continuous improvement across all clinical and care practices
Oversee both clinical and workforce functions during the commissioning phase
Collaborate closely with the Community Manager and Executive Team to support successful community operations
Manage budgets, audits, risk registers, incident management, and documentation
Lead incident management and risk mitigation processes, ensuring timely response and strong clinical oversight
Act as a key clinical escalation point, including after-hours support when required
