Maintenance Fitter – Full Time – Geelong $40–$49 per hour + regular overtime | Early Friday finish | Permanent position
On behalf of our client, Chandler Macleod is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join a leading precision engineering business based in Geelong.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a skilled and supportive team, working in a clean, organised environment with state-of-the-art equipment.
The Opportunity We are looking for a trade-qualified Fitter and Turner, or someone with equivalent experience, who enjoys hands-on maintenance work in a production setting.
Hours of work: Monday to Thursday, 6:00am – 2:30pm, with an early finish on Fridays.
Pay rate: $40–$49 per hour, depending on experience.
Regular overtime of up to 10 hours per week is generally available, though not guaranteed.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform preventative, corrective, and condition-based maintenance on precision production equipment.
* Calibrate and test machinery after repairs to ensure accuracy.
* Diagnose and repair faults, including hydraulic and pneumatic issues.
* Manage critical spares and maintain accurate maintenance records.
* Communicate effectively with supervisors and managers on repair progress and priorities.
* Support continuous improvement and help keep maintenance costs within budget.
* Follow all health and safety procedures.
About You
* Trade qualified as a Fitter and Turner, or equivalent relevant experience.
* Experience maintaining and servicing high-precision CNC and manual machinery (no programming required).
* Competent with manual machines such as lathes, mills, and grinders.
* Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* At least 5 years' experience in a similar maintenance role.
* Good communication and organisational skills.
