Senior Botanist Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Botanist to join our team in Victoria. The successful candidate will be responsible for various projects, working with diverse vegetation types and clients.
The key aspects of this role include:
* Field-based botanical survey work: Conducting surveys to identify and record plant species in different environments.
* Ecological impact assessments: Evaluating the potential effects of human activities on the environment and developing strategies to mitigate these impacts.
* Ecological monitoring: Tracking changes in ecosystems over time to inform management decisions.
* Proposal and report preparation: Developing high-quality reports and proposals to communicate results and recommendations.
* Project management: Overseeing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and effective collaboration with stakeholders.
To excel in this position, applicants should possess:
* A Bachelor's Degree in Science with a focus on Botany or Ecology.
* At least 5 years of experience conducting vegetation surveys in south-east Australia.
* Strong ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
* Excellent botanical identification skills.
* Experience undertaking Habitat Hectare assessments and achieving VQA accreditation.
* A current full Victorian driver's license.
