The Role

Are you a captivating storyteller with knack for analysing data and identifying 'Gold Nuggets'?

Masterpet have a great opportunity for a passionate, curious and analytical Category Manager to join the team based out of our new offices in Eveleigh, NSW.

In this customer facing role, you will not only provide data led insights to support the Sales and Marketing strategies but also develop strong relationships with internal & external customers, helping the team to drive sales and margin growth of our brands across all channels for our Specialty and Grocery account teams in Australia.

You will also be required to develop insights into category & investment strategies for execution within our retail partners and identify key insights and trends that will drive our business forward, actively collaborating with key internal partners to set short and long-term sales and brand strategies that will enhance products and services to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential. As such your strong presentation and communication skills coupled with an ability to directly influence external stakeholders, to impact outcomes will be critical to your success.

This is a fantastic opportunity for either a Category Manager seeking the next step in their career or someone looking to expand their career from agency into client side.

What you will do :

* Partner with the sales team during customer engagement sessions and identify growth initiatives during annual range review cycles;
* Provide data led insights that help implement strategic account plans that are aligned with broader business strategy, objectives, and internal perspectives;
* Partner cross-functionally to achieve commercial objectives across all channels;
* Support the development of a long-term category strategy (3-year planning and innovation development processes);
* Identify future Category trends and assist to develop category growth drivers;
* Work closely with internal / external customers in providing expert category analysis, that blends consumer insights and shopper insights/dynamics to build a compelling category plan;.
* Develop and recommend optimal promotional strategies;
* Engaging key internal and external sources to identify "how our shopper's shop" and provide this data to Sales & Marketing teams to execute with excellence within store.

What we are looking for:

* Prior experience in FMCG account management, insights and/or category management
* Strong analytical skills and ability to drive the implementation of category review objectives through the translation of data to insights essential
* Previous experience using IRI/Nielsen Scan, IRI Shopper Panel data and Quantium Checkout data
* Budgeting and commercial acumen essential;
* Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications, specifically Excel and PowerPoint essential;
* Detail-oriented with and excellent eye for detail.
