Why Your Role Matters
This position is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of modelling, simulation, optimisation, and visualisation tools to support funded project outcomes. You will provide operational technical oversight of software development activities, supervise software developers within the team, and ensure the delivery of robust, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions aligned with project requirements.
Who You Are (skills & experience)
* A relevant tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline, with 7+ years' subsequent relevant experience.
* Demonstrated experience leading the design and architecture of complex, scalable software systems.
* Advanced programming expertise in Java and experience integrating multi‐language environments and modern development frameworks.
* Demonstrated experience leading or supervising software development teams.
* Strong experience in software engineering best practices, including version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks and quality assurance standards.
* Demonstrated ability to manage competing technical priorities and deliver outcomes with a high level of autonomy and professional judgment.
* Experience engaging with industry, government or research stakeholders to scope and deliver technical solutions.
