An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated Family/Carer Peer Worker to join a vibrant multidisciplinary team.
The Team:

* This is an opportunity to work in the Glenorchy Community Mental Health Continuing Care Team.
* We are a vibrant MDT including lived experience workers, nurses, psychologists, social workers and psychiatrists.
* Plenty of rewarding work available with our community members

The Role:

* Provide support to families and carers of people receiving support from public mental health services, in identifying appropriate supports (community resources and services) and ensuring families and carers are aware of their rights and responsibilities.
* Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to identify family/carer needs and link them to the appropriate supports and services to meet family recovery goals.
* Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and participate in discussions with a focus on family/carer rights and responsibilities, quality improvement initiatives, planning and problem solving in line with mental health and recovery frameworks.

You will need:
The Family/Carer Peer Worker is a direct support role from the perspective of the family/carer's personal experience of supporting individuals with mental ill-health. The Family/Carer Peer Worker will:

* Uphold the Lived Experience values and principles to encourage a recovery-focused, person-centred, and strengths-based approach to all aspects of work.
* Use personal experience to support the families and carers of public mental health services' consumers/clients/patients, to maintain their health and wellbeing while caring for those with mental illness.
* Work positively and collaboratively with families and carers to identify supports to facilitate meaningful recoveries for the family and to foster hope.
* Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team to deliver outcomes in alignment with a mental health recovery framework.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

* Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary:
$67,193 to $72,126 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

* Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

* Working With Children Registration
* Current Driver's Licence

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

* Experience of supporting someone (family or friend) through mental health challenges, service use, periods of healing/personal recovery
* Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work, or willingness to work towards same
