Senior Associate – Responsibilities

As a Senior Associate, you will partner with a Relationship Director to drive account management strategies aimed at delivering outstanding client service. Your key responsibilities include:

* Engaging with multiple touchpoints within both existing and target clients to build and maintain strong relationships, identify client needs, and position the Bank’s solutions accordingly.
* Developing and maintaining an understanding of clients’ industries and associated markets, including local and global dynamics.
* Collaborating with global product specialists such as Leveraged and Syndicated Finance, Global Markets, Trade & Receivables Finance, Liquidity & Cash Management, and Private Banking.
* Undertaking credit evaluation (new submissions, annual reviews) on our client set, including analysis of complex financial information and timely preparation of high‑quality credit applications for general corporate and structured lending scenarios.
* Ensuring strong adherence to credit policies, ongoing client monitoring, financial crime compliance, and regulatory compliance.
* Supporting the instruction, negotiation and execution of client facility documentation, working with internal and external legal counsel as required.
* Managing day‑to‑day portfolio requirements, addressing client queries and liaising with internal product and offshore teams to deliver high customer service levels.
* Coordinating with the team’s dedicated Portfolio Service Executive to ensure administrative tasks are completed in line with client requirements and internal reporting needs.


Qualifications

* Proven ability to work effectively with corporate customers and understand their banking requirements.
* Experience in a corporate/institutional finance setting (credit fund, ratings agency, major accountancy firm, or investment bank) with a fundamental understanding of key corporate banking products, including bilateral and syndicated loans, trade finance, transactional banking and treasury solutions.
* Knowledge in one or more of the following sectors is considered advantageous: consumer (including food, beverages, agriculture), retail, diversified industrials, higher education, and TMT.
* Demonstrated ability to build strong and lasting relationships with internal and external parties.
* Proven capability in writing comprehensive yet concise credit papers, with high accuracy under transaction deadlines, including strong financial modelling and sensitivity analysis skills.
* Strong familiarity with APLMA loan documentation and Australian security structures is desirable.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with people at all levels, including clients, peers, product specialists, industry specialists, and credit risk personnel.
* High levels of self‑motivation, commitment, and a desire to succeed.
* Excellent time‑management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
* A natural focus on providing superior customer service with a genuine desire to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations.
* A degree in Finance, Business, Accountancy, Law or related disciplines. Related postgraduate qualifications such as Master of Finance, CFA, CPA, or similar will be highly regarded.
* Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
