The Role
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic experienced full-time legal secretary to join our Brisbane team. The role involves working as relief support across all of our commercial practice areas, working on a variety of tasks including;
* Providing secretarial cover to varied teams
* Liaising with clients and staff
* Preparation of legal documents
* Correspondence (emails, memos and letters)
* Monthly billing
* Managing all electronic documentation
* Diary management
* Opening, maintaining and closing matter files
* Reception cover and support for other corporate services functions as required
* Meeting room and event set up, including organising catering, managing room bookings, stock ordering and ensuring technology needs are met
* Administrative support
* Photocopying, scanning and other tasks, such as binding and collating documents.
Requirements of the role
The successful candidate for this role will:
* Be flexible and adaptable, proactive and able to work unsupervised
* Have a positive attitude and the ability to manage the workflow of multiple fee earners
* Have intermediate-advanced computer skills across the Microsoft suite in particular Word and Powerpoint, working knowledge of Excel, and a typing speed of 60+ wpm
* Have strong verbal and written communication skills
* Have experience using document management and billing/time recording systems (such as FileSite, Expert or similar)
* Have a minimum of two years' experience as a Legal Secretary
* Have strong organisational and file management skills and demonstrate initiative.
