Carpenter Role at The Trustee for Mackenzie Walker Family Trust
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Carpenter to join our team in Harkness, VIC. This is a full-time position for the right candidate.
Main Responsibilities:
* Planning and Organisation: Co-ordinate work activities and ensure timely completion of projects.
* Building Plan Interpretation: Read and interpret building plans and drawings to determine material requirements, measurements, and construction methods.
* Structural Framing: Construct wall and ceiling frames, install roof trusses, eaves, and add necessary supports.
* Furniture Installation: Assemble and install various wooden components, including walls, floors, stairs, panels, and partitions, using appropriate fasteners and tools.
* Window and Door Installation: Fit windows and doors into their respective frames, adding hinges, handles, and locks as required.
* Renovation and Repair: Identify and replace damaged or rotten timber, ensuring structural integrity.
* Formwork Construction: Build and install wooden moulds (formwork) to shape concrete during pouring.
* Safety Protocols: Adhere to OH&S guidelines, use power and hand tools safely, and operate small plant equipment on site.
* Site Preparation: Ensure a safe working environment by handling materials carefully and disposing of waste properly.
Eligibility Criteria:
* AQF Certificate III in Carpentry with 2 years' on-the-job training or Certificate IV.
* At least three years' experience in carpentry.
* Full-time working rights in Australia.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience in carpentry with a focus on safety and quality.
* Ability to read and interpret building plans.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Familiarity with power and hand tools, as well as small plant equipment.
