An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Sales Engineer to join the fast-growing Australian arm of an international group that is a global leader in the field of ventilation for underground mines, road and railway tunnels, and metro systems.

The company is part of a group that operates in over 80 countries on 5 continents. In Australia, the company has supplied the ventilation required for the construction and long-term operation of many of the nation's major underground transport infrastructure projects.

Zitron Australia is seeking a motivated and technically minded Sales Engineer / Sales Representative to support our national sales activities across both Primary Ventilation Fans and Auxiliary Fans for Mining. This role will work closely with:

* National Business Development Manager (Primary Fans) – based in Sydney
* Secondary Fans Sales Manager – based in Perth

The position is designed to initially focus on secondary fan sales, a well-established and standardised product line, while progressively developing the capability to support and eventually lead complex tender submissions for primary ventilation fans.

The role is based at our Hope Valley facility in Perth. Occasional travel to mine sites across WA and interstate is required for customer visits, networking, and sales support.

This is a key role that will ensure continuity of our mining ventilation sales capability while adding long‐term value to the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

o Maintain strong relationships with mining clients, contractors, and distributors.
o Prepare standardised proposals, pricing, and technical submissions with support from engineering.
o Coordinate with logistics and production teams to ensure accurate lead times and delivery planning.
o Provide after-sales support and follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction.
o Gradually assume full responsibility for the auxiliary fan portfolio as part of succession planning.
* Primary Fans – Progressive Development
o Support the National BDM with tender preparation, documentation, and client engagement.
o Assist in gathering technical data, compliance requirements, and commercial inputs for major tenders.
o Learn the technical fundamentals of primary ventilation systems, including fan selection, performance curves, and site requirements.
o Participate in client meetings, presentations, and site visits as required.
o Over time, take ownership of selected primary fan tenders, with mentoring from the BDM and the engineering team.
o Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the mining and tunnelling sectors.
o Identify new business opportunities and support the development of sales strategies.
o Attend industry events, conferences, and client meetings as required.
o Provide market feedback to management regarding trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.

4. Internal Coordination

* Work closely with engineering, logistics, and project teams in Australia and Spain.
* Ensure accurate communication of customer requirements and project expectations.
* Maintain CRM records, sales forecasts, and reporting for management.

Skills & Experience

* Experience in technical sales, mining equipment sales, or a related industrial sector.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to understand technical products and explain them clearly to customers.
* High attention to detail, especially in preparing quotations and tender documents.
* Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable working with minimal supervision.
* Experience with ventilation equipment, rotating machinery, or mining infrastructure.
* Exposure to tendering processes for major projects.
* Engineering background (mechanical, electrical, or similar) is beneficial but not essential.
* Familiarity with the mining sector in WA, NSW, or QLD.

Personal Attributes

* Customer-focused with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
* Willingness to learn and grow into more complex technical responsibilities.
* Collaborative and able to work effectively with colleagues across different states and countries.
* Reliable, professional, and committed to representing Zitron Australia with integrity.

This role is intentionally structured to offer clear progression:

* Short term:
o Take over auxiliary fan sales
o Build confidence with standardised products and processes
o Support National BDM with primary fan tenders
o Develop technical understanding and tendering capability
* Long term:
o Become a key sales resource for both auxiliary and primary fans
o Potential to lead major tenders and national accounts
