The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is inviting applications for a 3-year fixed term, full time Postdoctoral Research Associate / Fellow position in Quantum Spectroscopy.

About the Role

The is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Associate/Fellow, to be an integral part of the UTS Node for the Australian Research Council funded Centre of Excellence in Quantum Biotechnology, led by the visionary. This is not just a job; it's a chance to shape the future of fundamental research in emergent biology and biomedical diagnostics. You would be part of a vibrant, multidisciplinary team, working with leading researchers from the University of Queensland (UQ), the University of Melbourne (UoM), the University of Wollongong (UoW), Flinders University (FLD), and international partners.

About you

As the Postdoctoral Research Associate/Fellow in Quantum Spectroscopy your role will be instrumental in the development of quantum spectroscopy/microscopy for biomedical and environmental sensing, using entangled-photon methods to access mid-IR contrast with near-IR readout. Your expertise in quantum optics and microscopy will be invaluable as you apply these innovations to reveal emergent phenomena in cell biology.

To be successful in applying for this role, you must meet the below five (5) selection criteria:

- Doctoral qualifications in optics engineering, quantum optics, quantum photonics, spectroscopy, or microscopy.

- Ability to contribute to the development of the research group through guidance on experimental design, seeking external research funding, providing research supervision for students, engaging in cross-faculty dialogue, and working both independently and collaboratively.

- Demonstrated ability to conduct original research with a history of timely and high-quality outputs.

- Comprehensive knowledge and skills in quantum optics and/or quantum imaging/sensing.

- Demonstrated experience in constructing, automating and operating microscopy systems.

Remuneration/Salary

Base Salary Range: $94,152 - $114,672 (Level A) / $125,240 - $148,229 (Level B), plus 17% superannuation.

The position is full-time and will be offered on a fixed-term basis, potentially up to 3 years. The term will be determined on appointment, to align with recruitment and operational requirements.
