Primary objective
The Compliance Officer leads and coordinates Northern Territory Government's (NTG) compliance with respect to Banking Services
including Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). As a subject matter expert, you will offer guidance and advice to all
NTG agencies on their requirements to ensure they as an agency and NTG reach and maintain a compliant status and ensure good
governance practices.

Responsible for ensuring that all corporate processes and procedures comply with legislation.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Co-ordinate consultations with agencies and ICT stakeholders identifying solutions and making recommendations to deliver improved
compliance/governance across the range of banking arrangements utilised in NTG.
1. Provide information and guidance to agencies to enable clients to make informed decisions relating to Payment Card Industry Data
Security Standard (PCI DSS) and improving individual compliance.
3. Identify gaps across existing policy and standards against financial industry accepted security frameworks,
4. Oversee the compliance and operational aspects where DCDD receives and receipts monies on behalf of the Territory.
5. Provide project support to Banking related projects.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Thorough understanding of Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance requirements within a large
corporate environment.
2. Experience within the financial services industry and understanding of the banking system or ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
3. Demonstrated project management skills, along with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
1. High level attention to detail, oral and written communication skills including the ability to accurately analyse and clearly communicate
complex issues to a broad range of stakeholders.
5. Excellent organisation and time management skills with the ability to plan and manage workloads against changing and competing
demands.
6. Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation and develop policies, plans and procedures.
7. Proven experience in preparing and facilitating workshops and training materials to elicit and prepare business requirements.
8. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which aligns with DCDD values of commitment to service, innovation, ethical practice,
accountability, impartiality, diversity and respect.
Desirable
1. Sound understanding of the Financial Management Act, Public Sector Employment and Management Act and associated legislation.
2. Qualifications in accounting or other relevant business discipline.
