Kitchen Steward Job Description
As a key team member, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and sanitary environment for our guests.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide top-quality service by ensuring that all kitchenware is returned to its allocated area and stored safely.
You will be responsible for reporting any issues affecting kitchen operations or food safety to your Team Leader.
* Main Responsibilities:
* Ensuring all kitchenware is returned to its allocated kitchen area and stored in a clean and safe manner
* Reporting any issues that may affect kitchen operations or food safety immediately to your Team Leader
* Assisting with event setup and pack down, including preparing plate warmers, setting buffets, collecting plates/cutlery and service equipment from event locations, and returning them to the kitchen for cleaning and storage
* Completing daily tasks such as emptying and cleaning rubbish bins, sanitizing hand basins, cleaning and sanitizing kitchen trolleys, refilling hand towel dispensers and hand soap when required, spraying benches with sanitizer, cleaning kitchen floors, checking all equipment is switched off after use, and locking all fridges and doors on exit
* Completing weekly checklists, including cleaning the cold room door, seals, and flaps, bleaching chopping boards, descaling the dishwasher, cleaning dry store shelving, cleaning ice machines, cleaning the range hood, defrosting and cleaning the chest freezer, and polishing stainless steel walls
This role requires energy and enthusiasm, excellent communication, time management, and organization skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
