Disability Support Worker
This role is for a Disability Support Worker in Supported Independent Living (SIL).
About the Role
You will support people with disabilities in shared housing or their own homes, providing personal care and daily living assistance. This involves working across a 24/7 roster.
Key Responsibilities
- Integrate digital tools like iPads into routines to enhance communication and recreation
- Be available for sleepover shifts as required
- Support clients with complex needs using proactive strategies and clear communication
- Implement person-centred active and behavioural support plans, demonstrating initiative and flexibility
- Assist with personal care routines such as bathing, shaving, and toileting
- Encourage community participation, including one-on-one support within the community
Skills & Experience
- Hold an unrestricted NSW driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle
- Be willing to drive a company van for transportation if required
- Have flexibility to work throughout the week, including public holidays
- Possess basic technology skills on mobile and desktop platforms
- Hold a current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003 or HLTAID011) or be willing to obtain
