About the role
Manpower is partnering with an established Sydney commercial builder to appoint a Junior Estimator for its Belrose based team.
This is a genuine development role for someone who wants to build a long-term career in construction estimating.
You do not need to be an experienced Estimator already. You may be coming from construction administration, project coordination, contract administration support, a cadetship, a building qualification, quantity surveying studies, a trade background, or an early estimating role.
What matters most is that you are organised, accurate, curious and keen to learn how commercial construction tenders work from start to finish.
You will support experienced Estimators across commercial, government, education, institutional, refurbishment and fit out tenders. You will learn how tenders are set up, how documentation is managed, how trade packages are prepared, how subcontractor quotes are followed up and how pricing decisions are made.
This is not a role where you will be expected to know everything on day one.
It is a role for someone who wants to learn properly, build confidence over time and develop into a capable Estimator.

What you will be doing
You will support the estimating team with:
* Setting up new tenders
* Uploading, filing and managing tender documentation
* Maintaining document control across drawings, specifications, addenda and correspondence
* Assisting with tender document reviews
* Helping prepare trade packages for subcontractors and suppliers
* Issuing RFQs under guidance
* Tracking subcontractor responses and following up quotes
* Maintaining tender registers and quote logs
* Assisting with measurement, take offs and bills of quantities
* Helping prepare comparison sheets
* Supporting quote reviews, exclusions and scope gap checks
* Assisting with tender submission documents and internal review packs
* Communicating professionally with subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams
* Learning estimating systems, workflows and commercial processes
What you will bring
You do not need to tick every box, but this role may suit someone with:
* Some exposure to construction, estimating, project coordination, contract administration or construction administration
* Interest in commercial construction, fit out, refurbishment, government, education or institutional projects
* Good attention to detail
* Strong organisation and follow up skills
* Confidence using spreadsheets, digital files and construction documents
1. Ability to read drawings, or a genuine interest in learning
2. Clear communication skills by phone and email
3. A practical mindset and willingness to ask questions
4. Interest in building a long-term estimating career
A building, construction, quantity surveying, project management or trade background would be viewed favourably, but is not essential.

* Manage documentation accurately
* Track addenda and drawing revisions
* Issue RFQs under guidance
* Maintain quote registers
* Follow up subcontractor responses
* Support comparison sheets and tender files
Over time, you will develop toward:
* Completing basic take offs
* Preparing simple bills of quantities
* Supporting trade package reviews
* Identifying missing information or scope gaps
* Understanding how Estimators review pricing and decide what to carry
