Base pay range
A$86,087.00/yr - A$97,879.00/yr

* Salary Package: From $86,087 (HEW Level 5) p.a., plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading
* Appointment type: Full-time, fixed term (35 hours per week) appointment until 30 June 2026

The Role
The Australian Institute of Health Innovation is seeking a Research Assistant with a proven track record in providing a variety of research support to Senior Academics including literature reviews, assistance with grant submissions and quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
The successful applicant will work directly with Senior Academics. They will also liaise with diverse research teams internal and external to the AIHI, including stakeholders from all areas of the health sector and health consumers.

* Demonstrated experience preparing ethics submissions, peer-reviewed publications, and other research outputs.
* Experience and understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research processes.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, while coordinating activities to meet tight deadlines.
* Thrive in fast-paced and dynamic work environments, with the ability to prioritise and adapt workloads as needed.
About Us
The Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences is ambitiously pushing the boundaries of progressive thinking to solve some of the big issues of our time, on both a national and global scale. The Faculty forms part of MQ Health, an integrated academic health sciences enterprise which incorporates Macquarie University Hospital and primary and specialty clinics.
Our Faculty hosts the Australian Institute of Health Innovation (AIHI), an internationally acclaimed powerhouse researching health systems, e-health and patient safety. The Institute draws from the expertise of over 320 staff, students and visiting personnel working on over 120 different projects at any given time, publishing more than one peer-reviewed publication on average per day.
The Centre for Healthcare Resilience and Implementation Science (CHRIS), within AIHI, has a multi-stream program of research which focuses on delivering health system improvement by working with patients, healthcare providers and policy makers. We are methodologically sophisticated, multidisciplinary and draw on assembled and collaborative expertise in areas including health systems, policy, medicine, nursing and allied health, psychology, anthropology, sociology and complexity science. Our research underpins new models of care, fashions improved services for patients, builds better policy, provides an evidence base to guide what people do, and transforms the systems through which care is delivered.

* A bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in public health, health services research, psychology, or related discipline.
* Demonstrated research experience, preferably conducted within a University or Medical Research Institute.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficiency in computer applications, including spreadsheets, presentation software, research software (e.g. EndNote), and word processing
* Experience with statistical software such as SAS or SPSS, and/or coding qualitative data (e.g., using NVivo).
* Excellent organisational skills with a demonstrated capacity to meet tight deadlines and manage time effectively.
* Demonstrated experience in research project coordination and liaising effectively with research partners
Note: This position requires you to comply with occupational screening, assessment and vaccinations in line with requirements for obtaining contingent worker status at Western Sydney Local Health District. You may also have to satisfy Macquarie University that you meet all background checks (including criminal record and qualification checks).
