Your normal day will involve:
- Completion of mechanical tasks associated with machinery repair.
- Operation of lathes and other machining equipment for the manufacture and repair of mechanical equipment.
- Operation of TIG, MIG, and stick welding equipment for basic welding repairs.
- Interpretation of engineering drawings to execute tasks effectively.
- Implementation of job plans to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
- Maintaining a clean and safe workshop and job site.
- Identification and interpretation of spare parts requirements for various jobs.
- Completion of basic paperwork associated with individual jobs.
- Accurate inspection and assessment of jobs for quoting purposes.
- Maintaining accurate timekeeping records.
- Assistance in training apprentices and other staff if required.
