Agreement: Hobart City Council Enterprise Agreement 2024
Salary range: $91,138 + 13.5% superannuation.

About the role

Join Us as Team Leader with experience in both Accounts Payable and Receivable.

Are you ready to lead with impact? The City of Hobart is seeking a dynamic and experienced Team Leader to oversee our Accounts Payable and Receivable operations.

In this pivotal role, you will drive financial accuracy, operational excellence, and exceptional customer service across our payable and receivable functions. Key responsibilities of the role:

* Manage the daily operations of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and exceptional customer service.
* Lead a team of four finance officers, providing supervision, coaching, mentoring, support, professional development and performance management.
* Manage the City's payment processes, credit management, and debt collection in line with Council policy.
* Maintain, develop and implement accounting procedures and internal controls to support continuous improvement and mitigate financial risks.
* Reconcile and approve general ledger accounts related to accounts payable and receivable.
* Use financial systems and data proactively to support operational excellence and informed decision-making.

Essentials for the role
* Diploma in accounting, finance or a related discipline coupled with relevant experience in a similar role or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, skills and/or qualifications.
* Minimum of at least three (3) years of hands‐on leadership experience, including supervising, coaching, mentoring, training, and managing team performance.
* Proven experience across both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes within a complex organisational environment, with the ability to confidently oversee end‐to‐end processes and ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
* Demonstrate proficiency in financial systems and are confident using a range of digital tools and platforms.
* Have a solid understanding of GST legislation and experience applying financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
* Communicate clearly and professionally, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
