Executive Director Gaming and Wagering Regulation (Five-year SES contract)

Perth, Western Australia (Hybrid)

The Role

* Provides strategic leadership for regulatory activities and contributes to relevant legislative and policy reforms.
* Provides leadership and advice on gaming and wagering sector planning and partnerships.
* Provides leadership and direction across the department and has responsibility for delivering division, departmental and whole of government priorities and directives.
* Ensures compliance with relevant gaming and wagering legislation in a manner that is consistent with Government and the Commission's strategic directions and policies.
* Provides authoritative and strategic advice to the Commission Chair, Director General and Deputy Director General on compliance issues, regulatory risks and performance and related policy matters.
* Builds and maintains strategic partnerships, relationships and engagement with key stakeholders, including the corporate executive, chief executives, the Commission's Chairperson and members, federal and state law enforcement agencies, equivalent interstate regulators, federal and state public sector agencies to ensure a strategic and coordinated whole of government approach to gaming and wagering.
* Undertakes the statutory role of Chief Casino Officer under the Gaming and Wagering Commission Act 1987 and Casino Control Act 1984.
* Consults, advises and negotiates with stakeholders including regulated entities to facilitate the achievement of regulatory objectives and outcomes.
