 
        
        ConsultANZ is looking for a Commercial Manager to join a top-tier civil engineering contractor in Auckland. Known for delivering complex infrastructure across Current Zealand, our client is gearing up for a landmark project and seeks a strategic commercial leader to oversee financial performance, contract management, and team leadership. 
Key Responsibilities 
- Drive commercial strategy to support business growth and project profitability 
- Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities across infrastructure projects 
- Set and monitor financial goals, forecasts, and sales targets 
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and key partners 
- Lead contract negotiations and secure favourable commercial terms 
- Analyze market conditions and project data to inform business decisions 
- Manage commercial budgets, reporting, and financial planning 
- Align commercial objectives with company-wide strategic goals 
- Ensure compliance with all contractual, legal, and regulatory standards 
- Oversee project cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting 
- Lead and support a high-performing commercial team across multiple projects 
What You’ll Need 
- 10+ years’ experience in civil construction, with strong commercial leadership 
- Background in Quantity Surveying and cost management 
- Deep knowledge of contract administration and commercial best practices 
- Proven ability in managing claims, variations, and subcontractor performance 
- Skilled in project financial reporting and progress tracking 
- Experience with JDE (JD Edwards) systems is highly regarded 
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills with a strategic mindset
