Job Description
MA & MAL PTY LTD, trading as Lakeview Cafe, is seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our team in Kingsley, WA 6026. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate culinary professional to contribute to a busy café environment known for delivering high-quality food and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, cook, and present high-quality meals in accordance with established recipes and standards.
* Develop and update menus, including seasonal and special offerings.
* Monitor food quality at all stages of preparation and presentation.
* Estimate food and labour costs and assist with stock control and purchasing.
* Order, receive, and manage kitchen supplies and inventory.
* Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations.
* Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, including training and mentoring team members.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen operation.
* Monitor portion control and minimise food wastage.
* Collaborate with management to improve menu offerings and customer satisfaction.
Skills and Experience Required
* Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
* Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant full-time work experience as a Chef.
* Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen operations.
* Ability to plan menus and prepare a diverse range of dishes to a consistently high standard.
* Experience in stock control, food costing, and inventory management.
* Sound understanding of food safety standards and HACCP principles.
* Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast‐paced kitchen environment.
* Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
* Ability to train and supervise kitchen staff.
* Excellent organisational and time‐management skills.
* Flexible, reliable, and committed to maintaining high culinary standards.
What We Offer
* Competitive salary package of $75,000 – $85,000 plus Superannuation, commensurate with skills and experience.
