The Role
An exceptional opportunity exists for an experienced Human Resources Consultant to join the Clayton Utz Canberra office on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Canberra People & Development Manager, this role will provide trusted advice to our partners, managers and employees as part of the broader Canberra P&D team.
The role would support the office from a strategy team perspective, support local Canberra office initiatives, actively contribute to P&D project work and support the Canberra P&D manager in executing the Canberra people strategy.
You will be responsible for supporting local office clerk and graduate recruitment campaigns and programs in line with the national strategy. Duties include: managing ACT University relationships, coordinating and representing the firm at events, assisting with screening, interviewing and offer process, managing graduate rotations and feedback.
The People and Development (P&D) team
With a presence in each of our offices, the national P&D team forms part of our Business Advisory Services department. The P&D team provides strategic business partnering support to the business on P&D issues, driving and delivering a range of initiatives to ensure that Clayton Utz is a great place to work.

Skills & Experience
- Significant relevant HR generalist experience in a similar business partnering role in a complex, professional and highly client focused environment
- Proven abilities in developing and maintaining relationships with key and senior stakeholders
- The ability to drive projects and decisions through to completion
- Experience working within the legal profession or in professional services (advantageous although not essential).
