About The Role
The Event Manager will oversee the planning and execution of match-days and tournaments, including Club Competitions like the Australia Cup, National Second Tier, and Youth Championships.
Responsibilities include leading the planning of Men’s and Women’s AFC and FIFA Club Competitions, supporting various stages of club competitions and related events, managing security, risk, venue standards, and general event operations. The role also involves assisting with new National Competition Products.
You will support the organization of National Team matches, including Subway Socceroos, CommBank Matildas, and junior international matches, as well as fan days and corporate events. Collaboration with internal teams to ensure consistent event delivery and fan engagement is essential.
Other duties include attending weekly management meetings, building stakeholder relationships, and assisting in delivering other events and projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all operational aspects of Football Australia events, including accreditation, broadcast, sports presentation, catering, equipment, match day operations, medical, security, signage, teams, venue planning, and volunteers.
* Ensure compliance with FIFA, AFC, and FA regulations.
* Develop detailed event plans, risk assessments, run sheets, and review club documentation.
* Maintain process documentation and standards, providing training as needed.
* Coordinate with venue operators, freight companies, and stakeholders.
* Lead regular meetings and workshops with internal and external stakeholders.
* Build and maintain relationships with football stakeholders, broadcasters, security, and other partners.
* Collaborate with departments and sponsors to enhance fan engagement and sponsorship outcomes.
* Implement and manage accreditation systems, inventory, and freight processes.
* Support the development of event calendars and venue selection processes.
* Assist in developing and managing event budgets.
* Research market trends and international best practices to improve event operations.
* Promote continuous improvement in event practices.
