Research Scientist Opportunity
The role involves conceptualising, designing, and conducting research on marine restoration and ecology projects. Key responsibilities include leading high-quality research, supervising research students, teaching activities, assessing student learning achievements, and supporting students in line with UNSW policy.
In addition to research expertise, the ideal candidate should have experience with SCUBA diving, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a high level of attention to detail. They should also be able to liaise effectively with stakeholders and students.
The School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences (BEES) examines the natural environment. Research within BEES is clustered within four general thematic areas: Ecology and Evolutionary Biology; Climate Science; Environmental Change, Sustainability and Resources; Paleoenvironments and Earth History.
The role requires a PhD in marine biology, marine ecology, marine science, or a related field, with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training, and experience.
This position contributes towards the research effort of the Centre for Marine Science and Innovation and develops research expertise through managing and pursuing projects within the area of marine ecology, with a particular focus on marine restoration.

Key Requirements:
A PhD in a relevant field, with a strong background in marine ecology and restoration
Experience with SCUBA diving and excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
