The Client
Sri Vari Corp Pty Ltd is a telecommunication network support services company located in Pakenham and surrounding areas in VIC.
The Role
They are seeking a full-time NBN Technician to join their team in Pakenham, VIC.
This is a full-time position with an annual salary of $75,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation.
The Responsibilities
1. Planning and designing telecom devices and network structures on HFC.
2. Reading and interpreting HFC telecommunication blueprints.
3. Providing technical support for network troubleshooting and implementing in-field solutions.
4. Performing onsite hardware installations as required.
5. Implementing structured cabling for data and voice communication, especially where there is a separation of the NBN NTD & RSP Gateway.
6. Identifying, locating, and addressing Lead Inn & Network Conduit blockages.
7. Liaising with stakeholders, vendors, and suppliers.
8. Maintaining, repairing, and diagnosing malfunctions of telemetry devices.
9. Installing field automation and telecommunications network infrastructure.
10. Analyzing telecommunications network architecture to provide strategic recommendations and develop policies.
11. Installing Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial (HFC) cables for broadband services, including running cables through buildings, ceilings, walls, and conduits, and supporting fiber technology transitions.
12. Ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures related to NBN and delivery partner recommendations.
13. Monitoring the NBN active network via the UNA Diagnostic App to assess network performance and outages.
14. Establishing and refining telecommunications network design standards aligned with business objectives and security protocols.
15. Conducting network analysis using tools like the NBN atlas map.
16. Developing scalable network solutions that meet security, performance, and reliability standards.
17. Assessing network infrastructure for performance and stability.
18. Implementing enhancements to hardware, software, and communication protocols.
19. Configuring and deploying network environments for stability and security.
20. Maintaining records of system faults, solutions, and adjustments.
21. Identifying performance issues and recommending improvements.
The Requirements
1. Minimum Advanced Diploma qualification.
2. At least 2 years of experience as an NBN Technician.
3. Minimum 2 years working with telecommunications network solutions.
4. Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches.
5. Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and other core networking protocols.
6. Experience with wireless network technologies and access point configuration.
7. Hands-on experience with network performance tuning and optimization.
8. Knowledge of network security principles and best practices.
9. Experience with VLANs, subnetting, and routing protocols like OSPF and BGP.
10. Support experience with VoIP infrastructure and QoS configurations.
