We are seeking an experienced
Instrument & Control Engineer
to join our Darwin‑based team on a two‑year fixed term employee contract. This role offers the opportunity to apply your technical expertise across operating LNG assets where safety, reliability and good engineering judgement are critical to performance.
Working in a collaborative onshore environment, you will contribute to day‑to‑day operations, planned maintenance activities and facility shutdowns, while helping to maintain asset integrity and drive continuous improvement across instrumentation and control systems.
About The Role
As an Instrument & Controls Engineer, you will act as the technical focal point for instrumentation and control activities across our operating asset in Darwin. This role will be primarily supporting the Utilities and Combined Cycle Power Plant, however, there will be opportunities to support the LNG processing plant.
You will work closely with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering teams to manage operational performance, engineering change and shutdown execution, while identifying practical opportunities to improve reliability, safety and long‑term operational outcomes.
This role is well suited to an engineer who enjoys working close to the plant, engaging with multiple disciplines, and applying sound engineering principles in a live operational environment.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide input into maintenance planning activities across 120‑day, 45‑day and 14‑day planning cycles to enable effective execution and reliable plant performance.
* Contribute to major facility shutdowns and minor campaigns through participation in scope development, scope challenge sessions and execution support.
* Review instrumentation and control documentation to ensure alignment with the Operations Information List and operational requirements.
* Provide technical expertise to Operations and Maintenance teams to enable safe, efficient and optimal plant operation.
* Contribute to the development and ongoing improvement of instrumentation initiatives to maximise reliability, improve design and maintenance efficiency, and minimise spare parts inventory.
* Review and support risk assessments to ensure adequate controls are in place to maintain Asset Integrity.
* Contribute to ongoing alarm management and alarm rationalisation activities to improve plant safety and operability.
What We're Looking For
We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds and experiences. You will be a strong fit for this role if you bring:
* A degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
* TUV or equivalent Functional Safety Engineer certification.
* The ability to coordinate engineering activities and foster team awareness.
* Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and managing engineering change.
* Strong communication, planning and time management skills.
* A collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
* A current Australian driver's licence and access to transport to Bladin Point.
This role is open to applicants currently residing in, or willing to relocate to Darwin.
