Operational since 1999, Bengalla is in Muswellbrook in the Hunter Valley, and supplies international markets with approximately 13 Mtpa.
Bengalla is an open cut coal mine offering a residential lifestyle. The development consent for the operation provides the ability to mine through to 2039. We pride ourselves on the professionalism with which we pursue our goals and our strong links into our community.
The Opportunity
Bengalla Mining Company is excited to offer a four-year scholarship worth $34,000 to a student commencing university in 2025 in either Geology or Surveying. Alongside the scholarship, successful applicants will gain practical experience through paid vacation work.
Eligibility
For this opportunity you will need to be:
* A Year 12 student in 2025 based in either the New England, Upper Hunter or Lower Hunter Regions.
* Preparing to attend University full time in 2026 or currently completing the first year of University in 2025.
* An Australian Citizen or a permanent resident of Australia.
* Prepared to participate in up to 10 weeks paid vacation work each year over the Summer periods.
* Must not hold an active Scholarship with any other Company or Organisation.
* Enrolled or enrolling in the first year if a Geology or Surveying Degree
