About the role
The Gyprock Trade Centre Store Manager is a full-time position based at our Cairns, QLD store, reporting to the Area Manager. We seek a candidate with proven leadership experience, a strong focus on safety, excellent communication, and computer skills. Forklift licence is essential.
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, between 6:00 am and 3:00 pm (span of hours 5 am - 6 pm).
In this role, you will:
1. Safety: Champion safety compliance, ensuring the safety of the team, customers, and the public. Conduct site safety walks to maintain a safe environment.
2. Staff management: Hire, train, and supervise employees to ensure excellent customer service and effective performance.
3. Sales and marketing: Oversee sales activities, promote the store and products, support marketing campaigns to increase traffic and sales, and support opening new accounts. Use analytical tools for informed decision-making.
4. Financial management: Monitor the store's P&L performance and make decisions to improve profitability.
5. Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
