Our Client brings together leading clinical professionals, researchers and scientists to provide the very best in fertility IVF care. The medical teams are highly regarded for having fertility treatment programs that are considered the safest and most successful across the globe.
The well established Cytogenetics laboratory team has recently moved into a brand new facility and is looking for an experienced cytogenetics scientist. They operate one of the largest conventional cytogenetics laboratories in Australia.
**Responsibilities will include**:
- Provide leadership and mentoring for a team of 25 scientists and technicians.
- Supervise all aspects of conventional cytogenetics
- Authorise cytogenetic reports in consultation with clinical scientists and pathologists
- Oversee validation, evaluation and documentation of new tests and assays.
- Oversee training and development of all staff
- Coordinate preparation for NATA and other accreditation visits
- Liaise with referring clinicians at pre-analytical, analytical and post -analytical stages of testing.
- Compliance and adherence with Policies and Procedures, Workplace Health and Safety Procedures and Quality Assurance Processes.

**Role requirements**:
- Proven leadership and management experience
- Bachelor's degree relevant to pathology or equivalent.
- An outstanding commitment to quality and excellence
- Experience in laboratory operations including budget management.
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Self-initiative and problem-solving capabilities
- Display a high level of communication and well-developed interpersonal skills.
- A FHGSA, FFSC or equivalent clinical scientist is highly desirable.
