Disability Support Worker - South Grafton 2460A Personal Carer is required to assist with all aspects of personal care and domestic duties with some limited meal preparation.Anyone living locally with a background in disability/aged care supportwould be considered highly desirable, however, reliable and compassionate applicants with a genuine interest are also encouraged to applyAbout youYou are positive, honest and reliable with a good work ethic.You follow instructions well and understand the importance of providing individualized support within a home environment.You are fit, healthy and familiar with the manual handling tasks that go hand-in-hand when assisting a person with a disability.You are efficient with time management, as well as, flexible and easy going as things can change in daily life.You are looking for long term employment within a supportive and respectful environment.Preferably no allergies to animals.About the RoleYou will be working closely with the member in their own home providing care and supports which include:Assistance in the community (taking Member for a walk one day a week)Manual Handling (Lifter / hoist transfers, hi-lo bed, wheelchair, slide sheet)Assistance / administer medicationsAssistance with feeding / eating (Dysphagia management)Assistance with passive exercisesSome Domestic duties (limited)An excellent casual hourly rate is on offer plus superannuation.
