The Role HDR is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services (BES) team in Melbourne.
This position will be based out of our Melbourne Office and will work on projects across various markets, primarily in the Mission Critical sector.
As a Mechanical Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
Coordinating the mechanical design team through schematic design development and contract document phases. Participating in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance. Managing workload to ensure timely completion of documents. Conducting work sessions on-site with the Project Manager and other disciplines. Reviewing mechanical documents for conflicts with other disciplines. Writing and editing mechanical specifications, selecting equipment, systems, and devices. Coordinating with affected disciplines on addenda, RFIs, CPRs, change orders, and incorporating changes into documents. Providing construction contract administration as needed. Performing QA/QC on work of other Mechanical Engineers and Technicians. Performing other duties as needed. Preferred Qualifications Proficiency in Revit. Consulting experience in the MEP sector. Experience in Mission Critical/Data Centre Design is an advantage. Good knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and codes. Commitment to quality and HDR values. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Experience in mechanical system design for commercial or institutional buildings. Professional Engineer (PE) license. Experience with commercial or institutional facilities. Proficiency in MS Office, Trane TRACE, or similar software. Experience with architectural/engineering consulting firms.
