This leadership role encompasses strategic oversight of clinical governance, workforce planning, education, and research across a comprehensive cancer service.The successful candidate will provide executive-level leadership while maintaining a negotiated clinical caseload.
The role involves direct engagement with Clinical Directors across oncology, haematology, radiation oncology, and palliative care, and supports integration with academic and research institutions including James Cook University.Key ResponsibilitiesLead multidisciplinary cancer care delivery and service developmentProvide clinical governance and workforce planningSupport education, training, and research initiativesMaintain clinical practice within negotiated scopeEssential CriteriaFellowship of a recognised specialist medical collegeCurrent registration or eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of AustraliaDemonstrated experience in clinical governance and multidisciplinary leadershipEligibility for Scope of Clinical Practice (SoCP) within THHSPostgraduate qualifications in health management (desirable)About the Townsville Cancer CentreTCC is a tertiary referral centre offering advanced cancer care services, including MRI Linac and HDR brachytherapy.
