The Opportunity
We’re looking for a motivated Trainee Technician to join our Bunbury workshop team. This hands-on role will give you the chance to learn from experienced technicians while building a career in a specialised industry.
The role includes a mix of workshop and site-based work — inspections, testing, repairs, fabrication, and height safety. You’ll also travel across WA, with monthly travel, usually one week or less at a time.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assisting technicians with inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs.
- Supporting workshop operations (fabrication, load testing, wire rope work).
- Taking part in site installs and safety checks at heights (up to 45m+).
- Maintaining and organising tools and equipment.
- Following safety and compliance procedures at all times.

- A strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.
- Mechanical aptitude or trade interest (an advantage).
- Reliability, adaptability, and resilience for physically demanding work.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work independently and with people from all backgrounds.
Requirements
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and random drug/alcohol testing.
- Ability to obtain (if required) a Working with Children Check & full national/federal police clearance (MSIC/ASIC).
- Forklift, Work at Heights, and EWP tickets.
- Physically and mentally fit to work in high-risk environments.
- Flexibility to work overtime and extended shifts.
- Flexible for monthly travel, usually one week or less at a time.
