THE OPPORTUNITY
As an External Auditor, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality audit services to a diverse range of clients across industries. Depending on your experience level, your responsibilities will vary, with opportunities for professional development and growth. Junior External Auditor
Ideal for: Recent graduates or early-career professionals with 0-2 years' experience in audit or accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with the execution of audit procedures under the guidance of senior staff
* Perform basic audit tasks, such as data gathering, account verification, and reconciliations
* Support the audit team in documenting findings and ensuring client compliance with financial standards
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
* Interest in pursuing CPA or CA qualifications is highly desirable
Intermediate External Auditor
Ideal for: Professionals with 2-4 years of experience in external audit, ideally within public practice
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead sections of the audit process and supervise junior team members
* Conduct risk assessments, test internal controls and document audit findings
* Work directly with clients to resolve audit issues and communicate recommendations
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with CA or CPA qualification (or actively pursuing)
* Demonstrated knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax laws
* Proficient in using audit and accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, SAP)
Senior External Auditor
Ideal for: Experienced auditors with 4+ years of external audit experience and a proven track record in public practice
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage entire audit engagements from planning to completion, ensuring high-quality client service
* Mentor and review the work of junior and intermediate team members.
* Develop audit strategies, analyse financial statements and provide recommendations for client improvement.
Requirements:
* CA or CPA qualification required
* Extensive experience with Australian audit standards and regulatory requirements
* Strong leadership skills and ability to build client relationships
