We're excited to welcome a Design Assistant to the Sasha Therese team — perfect for a creative, detail-driven individual who is passionate about supporting the design process and bringing great ideas to life.
What will you do?
As Design Assistant, your primary responsibility is to work collaboratively with the designer and design team to assist with day-to-day roles and responsibilities. This role supports the design team to focus on driving handwriting, taste level and product desirability to exceed customer expectations and grow incremental sales.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
General Design Support
* Liaise with suppliers on all aspects of product development to ensure on-time delivery and quality standards
* Follow up and assist with approvals and sample submissions from suppliers
* Attend all fittings with the Designer and collaborate with multiple stakeholders to build and maintain ongoing processes
* Work closely with the design team to develop new and exciting styles for the range
* Communicate regularly on production issues or shortfalls throughout all stages of the process, minimising any impact to the critical path
Trends
* Contribute to trend research and collate trend boards
* Assist the Designer with all trend-related activities including colour palettes and sample reviews
Ranging
* Support the Designer with range board creation, upkeep and release to suppliers
* Coordinate the sourcing of fabrics and trims in line with the design brief
* Manage ongoing updates to the option plan
Technical
* Support with technical drawings — proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and CAD is essential
* Assist with style briefs, tech packs and creative briefs
* Liaise with the Designer to review and comment on fabric qualities, lab dips, prints and trims within required approval timelines
What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will hold a tertiary qualification in Fashion & Textile Design (degree or diploma) or a related field.
You will bring:
* Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD and lab dips, including Microsoft Suite
* Ability to complete tech packs and accurate technical specification drawings
* Strong knowledge of garment construction and product development
* Understanding of critical path and the ability to work to milestones
* A creative eye and exceptional attention to detail
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
