About this role
We are seeking an Aerospace/Mechanical Systems Design Expert to join our engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the research, design, manufacture, test and evaluation of mechanical systems found within our current and future UAS products.
Key Responsibilities
* Generate and own CAD models of UAV components and systems.
* Prepare technical documentation, including manufacturing drawings and assembly procedures, user and maintenance manuals, test procedures and reports.
* Use rapid prototyping tools and methodologies to build and test mechanical components and test jigs. This includes operating 3D printers, laser cutters and the use of hand-tools.
* Perform structural and performance testing of mechanical systems including propulsion systems (ESCs, motors and propellers).
* Liaise with material and component suppliers to coordinate production of our mechanical systems.
* Liaise with the wider engineering team to develop, improve and validate mechanical designs.
Requirements
* Bachelor of Engineering (Aerospace or Mechanical)
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment
* Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Experience with CAD design (parts, subsystems and assemblies)
* Materials engineering theory and application
* Holding/obtaining a minimum Baseline security clearance is required
