The Opportunity
PWR is currently recruiting for an experienced Sheet Metal Tradesperson to join our team on night shift (2:00pm – Midnight, Monday to Thursday).
This role will primarily focus on forming and bending sheet metal components, using equipment such as press brakes and pan brakes, to produce high-quality parts used in advanced manufacturing applications.
You will also work with a range of sheet metal machinery including laser cutters, turret punches and guillotines. Experience with laser cutting is beneficial but training can be provided for the right candidate.
Working from engineering drawings, you will be responsible for marking out, shaping, forming and assembling sheet metal components, ensuring all work meets production schedules and quality standards.
We are looking for a hands-on tradesperson who takes pride in their work, enjoys problem-solving on the floor, and can maintain accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Your Skills and Experience
* Trade qualified Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator (Cert III in Engineering – Fabrication or equivalent)
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in sheet metal fabrication or a similar role
* Strong experience with forming and bending sheet metal using press brakes or pan brakes
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and fabricate parts accordingly
* Experience using sheet metal machinery such as guillotines, turret punches or laser cutters (laser experience desirable but not essential)
* High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
* Ability to work effectively within a team in a safety-focused workshop environment
