About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager / Delivery Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of commercial and industrial (C&I) Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects under 5 MW. This role is execution-focused, with responsibility for taking projects from contract award through construction, commissioning, and handover.
You will work closely with internal engineering, sales, and procurement teams, as well as external EPC partners, subcontractors, and clients, to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
* Own end-to-end delivery of sub-5 MW Solar PV and BESS projects, from notice-to-proceed through commissioning and handover
* Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers
* Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities
* Manage EPCs, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure delivery outcomes
* Lead site mobilisation, construction progress tracking, and quality assurance
* Ensure all works comply with WHSE requirements, electrical standards, and regulatory approvals
* Manage grid connection, DNSP approvals, and commissioning activities (as applicable)
* Act as the primary point of contact for clients during delivery, providing clear and regular reporting
* Identify and proactively manage delivery risks, variations, and interface issues
* Support project close-out, documentation, and operational handover
About You
* Proven experience delivering C&I Solar PV and/or BESS projects (sub-5 MW preferred)
* Strong execution mindset with a focus on delivery, problem-solving, and stakeholder management
* Experience working with EPCs, installers, and electrical subcontractors
* Solid understanding of construction sequencing, commissioning processes, and grid connection requirements
* Strong knowledge of WHSE, quality, and compliance in live site environments
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage clients and internal stakeholders
Qualifications & Experience
* Background in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related trade or discipline
* 5+ years' experience in renewable energy, power, or electrical infrastructure delivery
* Formal project management qualifications (PMP, PRINCE2) desirable but not essential
* Experience with behind-the-meter Solar PV, BESS, or hybrid systems highly regarded
