Our client, a well‐established leader in transport and logistics services, is seeking a skilled and safety‐focused Reach Stacker Operator to join their Container Park and Warehouse operations. This permanent role offers stable hours, a supportive team culture, and the opportunity to work with a highly respected industry operator.
About the Role
You'll play a key part in the efficient and safe movement of full and empty containers across the site. This hands‐on operational role requires strong communication skills, high attention to detail, and a proactive approach to daily container yard activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Complete daily Mobile Plant Inspection Checklists for all equipment.
* Coordinate with Warehouse Supervisors and Gatehouse staff to manage daily loading and unloading schedules.
* Obtain and process dehire paperwork and assist with dehire lists during peak periods.
* Plan and execute effective yard organisation for incoming and outgoing containers.
* Communicate clearly with drivers and Gatehouse personnel to minimise delays.
* Safely load, unload, move, and store containers following company procedures and safety requirements.
* Identify and report any container damage, including photographing for customer communication.
* Ensure underbond containers are moved to the designated secure area immediately.
* Check empty containers for cleanliness.
* Monitor Reefer containers daily, logging temperatures and reporting issues.
* Communicate any delays or schedule issues promptly.
* Assist Warehouse operations during peak periods, including forklift tasks.
* Participate in WHS and team meetings as required.
Skills & Experience
* Current Reach Stacker licence with experience in container park or transport/logistics environments.
* Strong understanding of safe freight handling processes.
* Knowledge of heavy vehicle configurations, load compliance, restraint requirements, and CoR responsibilities.
* Experience in safe and efficient container handling and storage.
* Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
* Ability to prioritise tasks, self‐manage, and work effectively as part of a team.
Work Hours
This is a full‐time permanent position with staggered start times available:
* 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
All shifts include a 1⁄2‐hour unpaid lunch break.
