Corporate M&A Associate or Senior Associate
About the role:
MRA Search are seeking experienced Corporate M&A Associates and Senior Associates (3+ PQE) to join a leading Australian law firm in Sydney. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a market-leading corporate practice on high-value M&A transactions, corporate advisory matters, equity capital markets deals, and Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB) approvals.
You will work closely with senior partners, including a highly regarded corporate practice leader, gaining exposure to complex cross-border and domestic transactions, strategic corporate advisory, and regulatory matters. The team is recognised for its collaborative culture, sophisticated deal experience, and commercially focused legal advice to top-tier clients.
Key responsibilities:
* Acting on domestic and international M&A transactions, including public and private acquisitions, disposals, and joint ventures.
* Advising on corporate governance, equity capital markets, and regulatory matters, including FIRB approvals and compliance.
* Drafting and reviewing transaction documentation, shareholder agreements, disclosure materials, and other corporate contracts.
* Supporting senior partners in strategic deal structuring, risk assessment, and client advisory.
* Working independently on allocated matters while collaborating in a high-performing, close-knit team.
About you:
* 3–8 years' post-qualification experience, with strong exposure to M&A, corporate advisory, and/or equity capital markets.
* Proven experience at a leading domestic or international law firm.
* Australian-qualified with strong academic credentials (strong foreign qualified lawyers requiring sponsorship will also be considered)
* Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
