Graduate Accountant
Maitland City Council's Pathways program is a fantastic way to kick‐start your career and gain professional experience in an industry you are passionate about! Commencing in early 2026, for a period of two years, we have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Accountant to join our organisation.
About the Role
In this role, you will undertake a graduate program developed specifically for you, giving you exposure to the Council's expenditure team. You will undertake a variety of financial functions including payroll, accounts payable, processing and posting receipts and other general accounting duties. This role will help you to develop a solid foundation to your accounting career and help you grow from the ground up!
About You
* Degree level qualifications in Business, Commerce, Accounting or related discipline completed within the previous two years
* Contemporary industry knowledge of accounting and financial reconciliation
* Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, meet strict deadlines and continuously improve processes
* Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills
Benefits
This Graduate position is a full time, temporary role working a 35‐hour week, with a salary commencing from $70,728.84 per year + 12% super. Graduates will also have access to Council's great staff benefits such as flexible working arrangements & fitness passport.
