The opportunity
The APP Group is currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team in Canberra. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-priority projects that are vital to Australia's defence strategy.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering end-to-end procurement services, ensuring the efficient and effective procurement of goods and services in line with Commonwealth policies. To be successful in this role, you MUST hold and maintain an active Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) security clearance and be based in Canberra.
Key Responsibilities
* Delivering end-to-end procurement services, including planning, advising, and executing procurement activities.
* Managing contract changes and ensuring compliance with procurement and contractual obligations.
* Developing market documentation, including go-to-market strategies and work orders, in consultation with clients.
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
* Providing accurate procurement information to stakeholders at all levels of management.
* Drafting, reviewing, and assisting with management contracts.
* Providing procurement advice and commercial expertise to internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project needs and compliance requirements.
* Identifying procurement issues and providing recommendations for improvements or alternative strategies.
About you
* MUST hold and maintain a NV1 security clearance.
* Demonstrated experience in Commonwealth procurement roles, preferably in Defence.
* Strong understanding of Commonwealth Procurement Rules and PGPA Act.
* Experience with Defence-related software and systems preferred.
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Professional procurement qualification is desirable.
* A degree in business, law, commerce, or a related field is highly desirable.
