Overview
Genus has been engaged to deliver works associated with a FMG project at Anderson Point, involving brownfields electrical and infrastructure upgrades within an operational iron ore facility. The scope of works includes the relocation of existing above-ground and underground services to enable construction of a new surge building, installation of new cable ladder infrastructure along existing conveyors, and the installation of a new site-wide power feed supporting upgraded substations across site. The project will also involve shutdown scopes requiring additional personnel throughout project delivery, working within a live plant environment.
The Role
The Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing the safe and effective delivery of the project, managing site teams, coordinating project activities and ensuring works are completed in line with schedule, budget and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate site construction teams including supervisors, trades and contractors
* Manage project execution across brownfields works within a live operating facility
* Coordinate schedules between engineering, procurement, supervisors and site crews
* Attend and lead coordination and progress meetings with internal and client stakeholders
* Conduct regular site inspections to ensure safety, quality and productivity standards are maintained
* Monitor project milestones, respond to delays and manage construction risks or disruptions
* Maintain and review scope of work documentation and ensure contractual obligations are met
* Support planning and execution of shutdown scopes associated with the project
Essential Skills / Qualifications / Experience
* Trade Qualification or Engineering qualification (Electrical preferred)
* Section 26 qualification (S26)
* Experience managing construction works within mining or heavy industrial environments
* Experience managing brownfields or live plant construction scopes
* Minimum 5+ years' experience in a Construction Manager or senior project delivery role
* Demonstrated ability to lead high performing teams in remote environments
* Strong commitment to safety and knowledge of workplace health & safety legislation
* Valid Driver's Licence
* Construction Induction (White Card)
* Desirable
o FMG site experience or inductions
o Experience delivering electrical infrastructure or plant upgrade projects
