About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Roving Chef to provide operational support across multiple aged care sites. This role is ideal for a flexible chef who enjoys variety and supporting kitchen teams, including providing leave cover and assistance during vacancies or peak periods.
The Roving Chef plays a key role in maintaining consistency, quality, and compliance across sites while working closely with Operations Managers, Site Managers, and kitchen teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation and cooking of meals in line with set menus
* Ensuring meals are consistently high quality with excellent presentation
* Supporting and assisting kitchen teams across multiple sites
* Communicating effectively with Site Managers and facility staff
* Maintaining food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards
* Completing food safety and compliance documentation
* Monitoring resident feedback and supporting continuous improvement
* Assisting with stock control, ordering, and stocktakes
* Providing shift coverage and operational support as required
Skills & Experience
* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (essential)
* Previous experience in Aged Care catering (preferred)
* Strong knowledge of Western cooking styles
* Ability to adapt quickly to different site environments
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Basic computer skills, including Outlook and ordering systems
* Willingness and ability to travel between sites
