Talent is partnering with a global consulting firm to source a Telecommunications Regulatory Economist to work on a government department contract.
**About the role**
The purpose of this role is to act as a Facility Access Code and Third-Party Access Regime Subject Matter Expert, advocating for the shared use of telecommunication facilities and third-party infrastructure.
**Responsibilities**
- Collaborate with senior and junior regulatory and policy specialists to develop the deliverables
- Assist in formulating objectives and strategy to improve Facility Access, 3rd-Party Access and constructions standards and rules to improve market outcomes
- Assist in the development of an Implementation Plan to put in place the strategy
**Essential requirements**
- Demonstrated experience developing telecommunication facility access codes, or 3rd-party infrastructure sharing regimes in a national telecommunications regulator (NTR), or had a meaningful role in supporting its development, or shaping such regulation
- Experience developing the civil construction and power standards mandated for use in telecommunications infrastructure by an NTR, or sufficient knowledge to converse with civil and electrical engineers
**Desirable**
- Knowledge of ACCC Facility Access Code and AMTA and stakeholder consultation codes
