Senior Farm Hand/ Horticulture / Property Maintenance Role
Location: Southern Tasmania
Employment Type: Full-time
A recently established olive farm is seeking a reliable, highly self-motivated, and detail-oriented individual to take responsibility for the ongoing maintenance and development of the property.
This role is suited to someone with a strong horticultural and practical background who takes pride in maintaining productive and well-presented landscapes and can work independently with minimal supervision.
Role Overview
The property includes olive groves, gardens, landscaped areas, a vegetable garden, and a fruit orchard requiring ongoing establishment, maintenance, and improvement.
Responsibilities
* Pruning and maintenance of olive trees, fruit trees, and ornamental plantings.
* Maintenance of vegetable gardens, orchards, and landscaped areas.
* General horticultural care including weeding, planting, mulching, and plant health management.
* Lawn mowing, brush cutting and installation and maintenance of irrigation systems.
* Fence construction, repair, and general property maintenance.
* Operation of farm machinery including tractors, skid steers, excavators, and tipper trucks.
* Landscape maintenance and general upkeep of the property.
* Identifying maintenance priorities and implementing solutions independently.
Desired Skills and Experience
* Strong horticultural knowledge and experience (qualification highly regarded).
* Experience in garden, orchard, or landscape maintenance or weed management.
* Experience operating farm machinery and equipment.
* Practical skills across property maintenance, fencing, or landscaping.
