What you'll be doing
In this role, you will play a key part in supporting individuals on their recovery journey, helping them regain independence and transition back into the community. The work is both challenging and rewarding, offering the chance to develop skills, build strong therapeutic relationships and see firsthand the impact of your care.
As a Wardsperson, you'll play a vital role in supporting clinical teams and ensuring patient comfort and safety. This hands-on position involves working closely with nursing staff and other hospital professionals.
Part of your role will be to:
* Assist with patient care activities such as rolling, turning, bathing, and mobilising.
* Safely transport patients via bed or wheelchair throughout the hospital.
* Operate relevant equipment and maintain compliance with safety standards.
* Provide exceptional customer service to patients, staff, and visitors.
* Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and a positive team culture.

Selection Criteria
* Demonstrated experience as a wardsperson or in a patient care role within an acute care setting
* Demonstrated ability to work independently, with effective time management and prioritisation skills
* Good knowledge of Infection Control and, Work Health and Safety standards and procedures, with a particular focus on clinical manual handling
* Ability to work effectively as a team member, supporting other and taking directions from team leaders, supervisors and other staff as required.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to communicate respectfully to line management, colleagues, patients and visitors.
* Ability to perform the physical demands of the position, which includes pushing patient occupied beds, lifting patients using relevant equipment and mobilising wheeled equipment.
* Ability and willingness to work a 24 hr/ 7 day per week rotating roster, which includes weekends and public holidays.
